Overview

Working as a member of the Human Resources department, and reporting to the Director, Compensation & Benefits, the Data Analyst is responsible for having a solid understanding of all forms of HR and related business data – including having a clear view of its origin, meaning, structure and quality.  The role is responsible for understanding and leveraging the data and applying appropriate analytical visualization or techniques to address business questions and decisions.  The Analyst is familiar with the use of advanced statistical models and predictive analytics techniques.  The Data Analyst will develop a detailed knowledge of data sources and participates in maintaining and enhancing the Human Resources Information System.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

Must have:

  • 3-5 + years progressive experience in a data analyst role and a relevant post-secondary degree or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis and data modelling

  • Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, modelling, classification, and forecasting

  • Proven track record of identifying trends and developing insight from large data sets

  • Experience preparing Management Information (MI) for senior leadership and executive teams, including written commentary on analytics

  • Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent

 

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

  • General understanding of the investment industry

  • Previous experience as an HR or Reward Analyst
