Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as liaison between employees and management to mediate conflicts and develop solutions that result in a healthy working relationship;
  • Participate actively in employee disciplinary action and termination procedures;
  • Develop, apply and interpret HR related policies and procedures to staff;
  • Assist in development and implementation of recruitment and retention plans;
  • Field employee inquiries to the corporate office as required (management, payroll, human resources, safety, etc.)
  • Organize training and orientation sessions for a diverse range of employees on an ongoing basis;
  • Oversee and assist with implementation of the Performance Management program;
  • Provide career and training development opportunities in conjunction with the training department;
  • Provide management with manpower tracking reports and continuously suggest ways to maintain/improve on-site resources/attendance;
  • Support the Payroll Officer by providing accurate payroll data, tracked on a daily basis;
  • Administer leave policies, requests for leave, travel arrangements;
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and weekly operations management meetings.

  • Proven knowledge of, and ability to, apply best practices in human resources management, particularly in the area of recruitment, retention, and employee relations.
  • Ability to maintain solid and professional standards of conduct.
  • Proven understanding of Tli Cho Logistics' organization, environment, culture, and business, with the ability to understand, recognize, and anticipate concerns or problems that will ultimately affect the company's ability to attract, retain, and motivate employees.
  • Proven ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with management, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound problem solving skills and judgement.
  • Knowledge of Acts, Regulations, and procedures applicable to human resources management.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Demonstrated team building skills.
  • General knowledge of payroll and the critical relationship between payroll and HR functions.
  • Understanding of the northern cultural and political environment and the requirement of cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, diverse environment.
  • Excellent stress management skills.

Typically, the above would be attained by:

A relevant certificate, diploma, or bachelor degree, or combination of relevant courses in Human Resources Management, Business Commerce/Administration or Labour Relations, coupled with a minimum of 4 years related experience in Human Resources. We will consider equivalencies.
