Performance Auto Group is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the head office Employee Services team in Brampton, ON. Reporting directly to the Employee Services Manager (Head of Human Resources), the successful incumbent will be primarily responsible for managing human resource administration and overseeing day to day activities related to Recruitment and Selection, Onboarding and Orientation, HRIS administration and Performance Management. The position will provide HR related support to our dealerships located in North and East Brampton, Caledon, Orangeville, Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Brantford and Grimsby.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Regional HR Team Lead for Regional HR Coordinator and Regional HR Assistant

  • Manages the recruitment and job vacancy process and provides support to managers with screening and selection of candidates in accordance with standard hiring practices.

  • Reviews and audits all employment contracts and HR related databases to ensure data integrity.

  • Ensures employee queries on HR ticket system are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Provides support to Department Managers with performance management and progressive discipline matters including employee level terminations.

  • Responsible for performing thorough and objective workplace investigations when workplace violations occur or when employee complaints are raised pertaining to employees and department managers.

  • Provide support to H&S Manager with managing WSIB claims, workplace incidents, and return to work plans.

  • Participate in health and safety initiatives include monthly JHSC meetings.

  • Responsible for the case management of non-workplace related medical leaves.

  • Ensures all employees are up to date on mandatory employment training (AODA, WHMIS, Awareness and Violence and Harassment).

  • Support Regional HR Coordinator with the employee transfer process to ensure minimal risk and exposure for the company.

  • Provides support and assistance to Employee Services Manager with the development, implementation and administration of programs, procedures and policies to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.

  • Participates in the development of departmental goals, objectives and systems.

  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to Employee Services Manager to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Manages and compiles statistical reports as required by the Employee Services Manager.

  • Adheres to all applicable federal and provincial regulations and company policies.

  • Demonstrates utmost professionalism in the performance of duties.

  • Exercises full discretion, privacy and confidentiality with information in an ethical and professional manner.

  • Assumes other duties as directed by the Employee Services Manager.

Job Skills/Requirements:

  • University Degree in HR.

  • CHRP or actively working towards designation.

  • 3-5 years experience working in a HR Generalist or Specialist role.

  • Working experience with ADP WFN highly desirable.

  • Certification in Health and Safety considered an asset.

  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.

  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and multitask in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong computing skills required.

  • Ability to take initiative in the development and completion of assigned projects and duties.

  • Automotive industry experience considered an asset however not required.

  • Must possess own vehicle as regular travel is required to assigned client group locations across Southern Ontario
